Find Educational Resources

We have explored ways to build a scalable, extensible, federated search for all educational resources on the web. Our current beta of DiscoverEd is a result of this effort.

ccLearn is also working in collaboration with several other organizations to enable anyone to more easily discover and utilize educational materials, and especially open educational resources (OER), on the web. On this page, we will be aggregating search sites appropriate to this task. As the search portals evolve and improve, we may change the offerings on this page, but if you know of a search portal that you like, please let us know and we will examine it for inclusion. If you are looking for (open) educational resources, feel free to try out any of these search portals! Feedback is always welcome.

	WannaLearn.com WannaLearn.com has over 350 categories of free, first-rate, family-safe online tutorials, guides and instructionally oriented websites.
	LessonPlanZ.com LessonPlanZ.com is searchable directory of free online lesson plans and lesson plan resources for all grades and subjects.

	Federal Resources for Educational Excellence FREE makes it easier to find teaching and learning resources from the federal government. More than 1,500 federally supported teaching and learning resources are included from dozens of federal agencies. New sites are added regularly.
	INFOMINE INFOMINE is a virtual library of Internet resources relevant to faculty, students, and research staff at the university level. It contains useful Internet resources such as databases, electronic journals, electronic books, bulletin boards, mailing lists, online library card catalogs, articles, directories of researchers, and many other types of information.
	Education Planet Quickly search online educational resources including over 150,000 teacher reviewed online lesson plans.
	Lesson Plan Central An educators guide to lessons, worksheets, and weblinks.
	Thinkfinity The Thinkfinity Search Engine provides access to all of the educational resources created by the Thinkfinity Partners plus Partner reviewed materials.
	AT&T Blue Web’n Blue Web’n is an online library of 2158 outstanding Internet sites categorized by subject, grade level, and format (tools, references, lessons, hotlists, resources, tutorials, activities, projects).
	Awesome Library Awesome Library organizes the Web with 35,000 carefully reviewed resources, including the top 5 percent in education.
	Education World Education World searches for educational Web sites only. It is a place where educators can find information without searching the entire Internet.
	Virtual Learning Resource Center The Virtual LRC is both a dedicated index of over 10,000 web pages maintained by a real human being, as well as a meta-search engine that includes in its results information gleaned from many of the best research portals and university and public library Internet subject guides recommended by teachers and librarians.
	Intute Intute is a free online service providing you with access to the very best Web resources for education and research. The service is created by a network of UK universities and partners.
	Librarians’ Internet Index Librarians’ Internet Index has over 20,000 entries, maintained by librarians and organized into 14 main topics and nearly 300 related topics.
